Every customer knows the depressing feeling of arriving to the supermarket shop with a specific item in mind just to find that it is not on the shelves. Coca-Cola fans have lately gone through this experience.
Earlier this month Coca-Cola said that it will be ending not only one but two varieties of its well-known cola. Conversely, the company revealed the news via X, previously known as Twitter, rather than making an official announcement.
“I think @CocaCola discontinued blackberry Vanilla Coke in the bottle,” stated a user on X at the beginning of September. The individual said, “I haven’t seen it in months.” A few days later Coca-Cola confirmed that the product is no longer for sale.
“We decided to discontinuate Coca-Cola Cherry Vanilla due to customers’ taste preferences and habits constantly changing,” Coca-Cola said in its announcement. “As a Total Beverage Company, we always looking for ways to evolve our product line to bring consumers the beverages they want.”
The news did not go easy for fans since one could have expected.
One person responded with “Not a good decision!!”.
“I have been enjoying Coca-Cola products for the past 65 years. My all-time favorite flavor is without a doubt cherry vanilla. “I have no idea what they were thinking,” another X user added.
Coca-Cola has already addressed the matter with the scarcity of Cherry Vanilla Coke in other occasions. The soda company said in their letter that the taste will only be accessible for as long as supplies allow and revealed in March that they will be eliminating taste X.
Though Cherry Vanilla was taken from the menu, drinkers of beverages can find comfort in the knowledge that the Cherry and Vanilla Coke varieties are still sold in their own right.
Coca-Cola distributed further information via X a few days after declaring it would not be making Cherry Vanilla Coke. We regret to notify you that Diet Coke with Splenda has been taken off the market. The company said, “We are sorry for any disappointment that may have occurred,” when one X user asked about the drink’s availability.
Once more, some supporters were ready to express their discontent with the company.
I appreciate you persuaded me to start drinking Pepsi. Among the X users, one said, “this was a huge fail on your part, Coca-Cola.”
According to Sporked, Coca-Cola Spiced would be discontinued along with Cherry Vanilla and Diet Coke with Splenda, two known to be deleted products.
A Reddit poster said a few months ago that a Coca-Cola delivery crew warned of a cessation informed of them. The product description says, “With a burst of refreshing notes from raspberry and spiced flavors,” this soda combines Coca-Cola’s taste with a kick.
