Costco members definitely treasure the pizzas sold in the food court of the store. But because these pizzas are so popular, consumers have often complained about the long wait times, missing orders, and general uncertainty they encounter while trying to buy one. Fortunately, members have lately found an interesting new food court upgrade that could simplify and cut the ordering pizza at Costco process, so saving time and effort.
A Costco customer who was shopping earlier this week uploaded a picture on Reddit looking to be a pizza warming cabinet they had seen in a nearby warehouse. The picture was shot in the food court. Mostly empty, the cabinet had a sign indicating it housed whole pepperoni pizzas with 3,880 calories, which the food court was selling for the regular price of $9.95.
The Reddit user who posted the picture claims they thought consumers should make their purchases and then straight out from the warming cabinet retrieve their pizzas. Consumers should take this theory with a grain of salt even though the Reddit user mentioned that they were not totally sure of the purpose of the feature.
Costco did not react right away in response to our requests for comments on the function of the cabinets, the sites where they are now used, and whether or not they would be expanded to include more warehouses.
Though the new food court feature is still much unknown, consumers were quite eager about the prospect that Costco would be presenting a more practical new approach to buy its pizza. Although the store now offers whole pizzas via its food court kiosks, consumers have complained about the drawn-out wait times connected with this approach. Members may also call ahead and order an entire pizza; but, this depends on prior planning and is thus not always possible.
On the other hand, a warming cabinet filled with hot pizzas anyone could grab at their convenience would give patrons an alternative more quick and handy than the other ways of ordering.
“What a wonderful idea. “Time the pizza right when shopping or coming just to pick it up is tough,” a customer said on a Reddit post.
“If they ever get that in my store, I’ll get one every time,” one another wrote.
Not only this but the food courts at Costco have seen a lot of notable changes lately. One month ago, the food court menu of the retailer included a new Chicken & Bacon Sandwich (920 calories). Present on ciabatta bread, this sandwich consists of oven-roasted chicken breast, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, bacon jam, and a mayonnaise-mustard sauce.
Customers have attacked the taste of the sandwich, the calorie count, and the price of $6.99; nevertheless, our taste test showed that the contentious item got generally good comments.
